                  Health & Safety update
Fire, Health & Safety update October 2020
The Church committee during the past year 2020 have employed the technical services of “Fire Solutions” Belfast to come in and update our Church to take into effect UK fire regulations. I have listed below the following for your interest.
                                                      Main Church
  • This has involved new smoke detectors being fitted in the entrance hall
  • The fire detector in the main auditorium being re-sited to the ceiling
  • The replacement of out of date smoke detectors
  • A new fire bell fitted
  • All fire extinguishers being re-gassed or replaced due to age
  • Emergency lighting has been renewed
  • Emergency exit fire signs have been renewed or replaced
  • A new fire assemble point has been set up below the entrance gate as you come in on the left
  • All electrical appliances have been “pot tested”
  • Minister’s courtesy parking sign
  • A courtesy disabled sign
  • A 15-mile hour speed sign

                                               Sectional building
  • A new safety lock has been fitted to the exit door of the sectional building
  • A manual fire bell has been fitted
  • New emergency exit signs have been fitted
  • All electrical equipment has been “pot tested”

                                  Appointment of two fire wardens
It was the mind of the Church committee in light of the UK fire regulations that we appoint two fire wardens to safely evacuate the building in the event of a fire. Mr David King and Mr Rodney Brown volunteered to under-take this responsibility.
                                             Fire drill evacuation
A practice fire drill evacuation has been envisioned to safely evacuate the building in the event of a fire, however due to the “Covid 19” and the two social distancing it was felt that this would take place at a later date.
                                         An attendance roll book
Under law we are required to know who is in the building or who has left the building at all times, this requires us to have a roll book of all person’s present. This roll book is kept by the doorman as you enter the building.
Please note! this roll book is already in place due to the “Covid 19” track and trace requirements.
